Peter Rabbit Baby Shower

Tonie Christine Photography

Last month I had the honor of putting together a Peter Rabbit themed baby shower for this gorgeous mama -
my sweet friend Nicole, from Nicole Conner Photography. She would soon be welcoming her THIRD SON #momofboys and I couldn't have been more excited!

Nicole and I started working together in 2015 and became fast friends. Nicole is kind hearted, selfless, extremely talented, honest, and super encouraging. Over the years she has become such a special friend to me, so designing a beautiful shower for her was a no -brainer! I teamed up with Tiny Prints & created a magnificent Peter Rabbit themed baby shower - perfect for a soon to be adventurous little boy.

Let's Brunch! To begin the celebration, ten of Nicole's closest friends gathered together at her home for a delicious meal that was prepared by her dear friend Sarah.

Cinnamon Rolls, Butterhorns, Peppered & Brown Sugared Bacon(seriously amazing), and French Toast Bites Oh My! This brunch was divine! Sarah outdid herself, & everyone happily indulged!

Inspired by a Watercolor Stationary DIY I came across on Pinterest, I created the food labels by dipping them in gray watercolor paint. I then handed them off to my talented friend Josie from Chalk Chic Mama to enrich these beauties with the scrumptious food names of what we would later be devouring.

I had been eyeing some canvas fabric for a while, and decided this would be the opportune moment to sew some banners for the shower. I decided to make three of them - each one to be a focal point at each station: the brunch table, the drink table, and the dessert table.  I then handed these off as well to Chalk Chic Mama and she worked her magic like she always does!

Ahh the Mojito Bar! So fun! Nicole loves Mojitos and so we decided let's have them! Non-alcoholic of course! Guests had their choice of Classic, Blueberry, or a Lavender mojito - each filled with crushed ice from Sonic - one of Nicole's pregnancy cravings.  I found a recipe for Lavender Simple Syrup that was so easy to make, and turned out fantastic! Each mojito was adorned with an "It's a Boy" drink flag I made that matched to the color scheme, and then I used the same watercolor dip dye process on the Mojito labels as I did to the food labels to tie everything together.

This darling dessert table might just be one of my favorite designs to date!

Everyone swooned over the French Macaroons!! My incredibly talented Mother-in-law hand painted each one with food coloring. They were almost too pretty to eat!

Tying into the theme, I added the sweet little Peter Rabbit characters to each one of the mini cakes. I then created the rabbit ears cake topper by using some wire that my husband had lying around, and wrapped it with a soft gray ribbon to match the color scheme.

For the activity, I tied it in with the watercolors, and had guests paint over different rabbit & nature silhouettes that I cut out.  It ended up being a fun, and simple activity that all of the guests enjoyed.

For the favors, guests got to take home darling little watercolor notepads - that couldn't have tied in more  perfectly with the theme - and they were personalized with the quote:

Even the smallest one can change the world - Peter Rabbit

Very fitting, for this sweet little babe doesn't know it yet - but he has a mother who has a heart of gold, and she will undoubtably teach him to have courage and that he can change the world.

A few of my favorite elements were:

  • Hanging on the wall was a portion of the Peter Rabbit Story written out by Chalk Chic Mama
  • The beautiful images of Nicole from her recent Maternity Session with Tonie Christine Photography. I used those images on her Thank You Cards to guests, and as large wall mounts placed throughout the shower.
  • The sweetest hand embroidered Peter Rabbit Romper from Mary Mary Quite Contrary.
  • The Darling Velveteen Bunny Bonnet by Bespoke by EL.

It was such a special day, for such a special friend, that was filled with lots of love and great anticipation for her sweet little one.
